This series takes place primarily in a place known of as the Old Kingdom, a place where magic works and technology does not. Ancelstierre is a country where exactly the opposite is true, technology works and magic does not, the two separated by a wall built by ancient people who helped in the founding of the Old Kingdom. The primary characters in these novels are magicians/necromancers who deal with destroying the restless dead raised by evil necromancers in the Old Kingdom. The system of magic and the cultures involved in both worlds are interesting and well thought out. Over all, this is a good series that I believe is worth the read.
